Of course, some questions popped into our minds instantly when we saw the list and need further research. For instance, why is Honda so popular and why is it more popular than Mercedes-Benz and Tesla? Also, BMW, Toyota, and Chevrolet are not in the top 10?
Some questions might be answered right away like why are Jaguar, Maserati, and Bentley on the list. The answer is that those brands unveiled their first SUVs in 2016, thus unintentionally earning the right to be on the most searched list. Volvo, on the other hand, sold more vehicles through November in the U.S. this year (72,595) than in 2015 (60,705). Other than that, Volvo also did a great marketing job regarding their new self-driving technology.
Ford was popular among car enthusiasts because of its GT supercar and the Focus RS. Lamborghini always takes on of the top positions of the list, no other explanation needed. When it comes to luxury cars, Mercedes-Benz is a clear winner and that explains its presence on the list. Why BMW is not in the top 10 is a good question since they are very close to Mercedes-Benz when it comes to luxury cars. Honda Civic, Accord and the CR-V are three of the most sold cars in the world so Honda rightfully holds the first place.
