3.Doc Hudson
Even though Lightning McQueen had natural racing skills, he would have never achieved greatness if it wasn’t for his mentor Doc Hudson. Doc was voiced by Paul Newman who passed away between Cars and Cars 2, which is why a lot of the narrative in Cars 3 revolves around honoring Doc. As for the character, it is based on the Fabulous Hudson Hornet, one of the best NASCAR stock cars.
