2017 Honda City for Indian Market New Pictures

2017 Honda City

Honda is planning to unveil the updated version of the City model in 2017, and by the looks of it, they will make it available for every market. Judging by the teasers found on Honda Thailand’s social pages, the new version will be refreshed for the Thai market, but that is not all. India will be getting only slightly different, but nonetheless, refurbished version of the City next year as well.

The Japanese automaker has never been too keen on revealing information regarding their currently unfinished projects and rarely have their vehicles been seen tested on the public roads. This is also the case with the City that is currently in the showrooms in India, and the situation has not changed for the 2017 model either as we are deprived of any information regarding it.

Anyhow, do not expect the 2017 Honda City to change too much since Japanese company will probably just update it a tad. It is easy to spot the vehicle’s new LED headlights and LED daytime running lamps on these images. Also, the car will feature a wider chrome grille, and the whole front resembles the Civic’s design. The alloy wheels are bigger (16 inches) than on the previous version (15 inches), and the shape of the car will be brawnier. Honda decided to keep the outgoing model’s dimensions for the new variant and update the taillights with revised cluster.

The cabin of the car cannot be seen in these images, but we suppose that Honda probably left it out because there won’t be any huge upgrades in that department.

When it comes to the engine that the current City uses, Honda went with a 1.5-litre petrol that is paired with a CVT and capable of producing 119 PS and 145 Nm. On the other hand, a 1.5-litre diesel with 100 PS and 200 Nm was chosen for those drivers that prefer this type of fuel. The 2017 Honda City will most likely keep these two engine options.

The big reveal of the 2017 model in Thailand is scheduled for the first week of January, after which it will go head to head with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, and Hyundai Verna. The refreshed 2017 Honda City is expected to be more expensive that the outgoing model and its price should go up for about Rs 25,000.
