Although many expected to see Ram 1500 Rebel Hellcat-powered TRX at the upcoming Detroit auto show, the American automaker decided to reveal another special edition version – 1500 Rebel Black. The new vehicle will be unveiled on January 9, and it is precisely what its name says, a standard Ram 1500 Rebel decorated in black. The model features a black brush guard, black wheels, and optional black Katzkin leather, all of which results in a combination never seen before on the 1500 Rebel truck.
The model also has a few black accents on the doors, instrument panel, gauge cluster trim rings and center console. Ram decided to go with gray “Rebel” embroidery on the seats that also feature gray accent stitching just like the one around the dashboard.
2017 Ram 1500 Rebel Black Features
The 2017 Ram 1500 Rebel Black will be available to customers in two engine variants. The first is a 3.6-liter V-6 that is good for 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The other one is a 5.7-liter V-8 that will get you 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. When it comes to the drive layout, the V6 will only go with four-wheel drive, whereas the second can be either 4×4 or rear-wheel drive. However, both options have the same 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Equipped with 33-inch off-road tires and air suspension with specially tuned Bilstein shocks, the 1500 Rebel presents a full-size truck that craves for off-road adventures. If you want to own the 2017 Ram 1500 Rebel Black, it will cost you $46,910 with a destination charge of $1,320, but you will have to wait until March for the vehicle to be available.
