It is that time of the year at Ford’s when new models start emerging, and any information concerning them is precious. Since June we have been intrigued with the rumors about introducing an optional ten-speed automatic, and now we are sure this one will come since dealership ordering info suggests so. The EcoBoost and GT version of the vehicle will also feature optional MagneRide magnetorheological adaptive dampers which Shelby GT350 also has.
The usual 3.7-liter V6 will not be included as an option for the 2018MY vehicle, according to the dealer system. Instead, Ford has the turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine in store as an entry-level unit which was expected. This means that the new Ford Mustang will most likely have an active exhaust system with four tailpipes, but it is not clear if all models will receive this feature.
2018 Ford Mustang Colors
Another change is the availability of more color options which include the Orange Fury and Royal Crimson. However, the Grabber Blue hue which was available last year, will not be an option. According to what has been leaked in the ordering guide, the “Performance Pack 2” option is coming and should represent a sportier version of Mustang with few improvements and upgrades. Something similar is offered with the Chevy Camaro 1LE performance packages with the V6 and the V8-powered SS models.
Judging from the numerous spy photos, the exterior on the new Mustang will not change too much, though the heavy camouflage still makes us wonder what changes Ford brings for the new model. The interior will most likely not be changed significantly.
Release Date of new Ford Mustang
The debut date of the new 2018 Ford Mustang is still unknown, and our best guess is Detroit’s North American International Auto Show in January. If so, the online reveal could happen in less than a month.
