Ford is trying to resurrect its renowned SUV Ford Bronco and in charge of that project is Ford Australia, but Bronco is not the only vehicle they are working on. A next-generation Ranger is expected to be manufactured as well. The new vehicle is already being tested at the You Yang proving ground and leading the project is Ford’s Asia-Pacific Product Development Center in Victoria, as Motoring reports.
It seems that Ford is satisfied with the T6 ladder platform that the Ranger uses, so the company wants to adapt it to the new Bronco. The Blue Oval company even may decide to sell it worldwide and make it available with a steering wheel on both right and left side of the car depending on the market. But that is not the only thing the Bronco and the Ranger will have in common.
Bronco will also have a manual or automatic transmission with a low-range transfer case and will run on four and five-cylinder diesel engine. Vehicles for U.S. most likely will have a petrol-powered V6 engine.
A worthy opponent to the new Ford Bronco is thought to be Rubicon Wrangler with two doors and Wrangler Unlimited four-door model.
The resurrected Bronco is expected to be manufactured at Ford’s Michigan plant as it was unveiled by a representative of the United Auto Workers last month.
