2. Porsche 911 Turbo Project Gold
Porsche was also represented in Monterey by a blast from the past, with a concept based on the automaker’s rich history. The company’s restoration division, called Porsche Classic, got their hands on a 993 original body and was allowed to go nuts with it. Judging by the results, they should do that more often. Dubbed Project Gold, the new car is a combination of the classic Porsche look filled to the brim with modern gizmos. It is powered by 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 450 hp. The car will be auctioned off next month at RM Sotheby’s Porsche 70th Anniversary Sale in Atlanta and will most likely go for seven figures. All we can say is that we envy the new owner.
