2018 BMW i3 Refreshed – New Spy Shots

The German automaker decided to test the upcoming i3, and our camera was there to capture this. The model will probably be introduced at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, but we can see it here undergoing final preparations and inspections on the road close to Munich.

Although engineers at BMW did their best to create a different vehicle in terms of design, despite that, the new model closely resembles the outgoing one. Nevertheless, the 2018 BMW i3 features many changes, some of which are quite noticeable. First of all, the automaker seems to have opted for a new front bumper that has refurbished fog lights and different headlights.

2018 BMW i3 Features

Judging by the camouflage that is present at the rear end, it’s safe to say that the vehicle will feature some changes in that area. However, it appears that taillight graphics are the same as the ones on the outgoing i3.

The interior of the vehicle will probably be equipped with the company’s latest infotainment system, newest connectivity gadgets and possibly active safety and various convenience features. However, we shouldn’t expect the i3 to be as equipped and smart as the new BMW 5– or 7-Series.

The base model will have more power and better range (more than 200 miles/320 km), but if you are looking for a performance-oriented yet sophisticated hatch, you might want to check out the i3S flagship.

The upcoming 2018 BMW i3 will be offered along with new color options, which gives owners a choice to paint their vehicle in more colors than before and make it unique. The refreshed version is expected to be available to buyers before the end of 2017. At this point, we are still short on information regarding performance and price so stay tuned as we will bring those details as soon as we find out more.
