For the annual EAA AirVenture that takes place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Ford has been preparing a custom, aviation-themed vehicle. They would sell such vehicle at a charity auction and raise more than $3 million in total, ever since they took part in the event.
This year’s machine is the Eagle Squadron Mustang GT that pays tribute to the American volunteers who were in Britain’s Royal Air Force in the Second World War. Here are Ford’s 11 Aircraft-Inspired cars that were sold at a charity.
11. 2008 Ford Mustang AV8R
For the EAA AirVenture in 2008, Ford created the custom model they named the AV8R, which has subtle design traits compared to some of the vehicle to come. This muscle car is signed by many celebrities such as Edsel B. Ford II, Jack Roush, Chuck Yeager, Harrison Ford, Morgan Freeman, Jim Lovell and John Travolta. Thanks to the supercharger, the car’s 4.6-liter V8 engine delivers 400 hp.
