2017 Honda Civic Type R to debut in Geneva

The new Honda Civic Type R will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, as it has been confirmed by the Japanese automaker. However, the model will come to Australia later in 2017. This is not the only car Honda will be introducing at this popular motor show as the new Clarity Fuel Cell is scheduled to debut along with a concept car named the NeuV. The Clarity Fuel Cell will have a range of 620 km, and the NeuV concept will be showed for the first time in Europe.

However, the vehicle that fans eagerly want to see in Geneva is the 2017 Civic Type R in its production guise. Although the sporty hatchback was spotted and showcased in many concept versions and prototypes, it will be revealed in Geneva as the production-spec model for the first time.

2017 Honda Civic Type R Features

The next-generation 2017 Honda Civic Type R served as a base for the new Type R which was built alongside the standard version from the very beginning. The manufacturer suggested that in this way, both models were being improved and perfected alongside one another.

The new 2017 Civic Type R will feature Honda’s latest 2.0-liter turbo VTEC petrol engine along with the advanced platform, suspension tuning, and various aero improvements. Because of these new features, this vehicle will probably be one of the quickest front-wheel-drive production models ever.

The next-generation will be produced in Honda’s plant in Swindon, UK. The company will deliver the car worldwide to all markets including Australia, North America and Japan later in 2017. The starting price for the Australian market model will be revealed soon.
