Drivetrain
Under the hood of the 2019 Saleen S1, you will find a twin turbo 2.5-liter I4 engine which delivers 450 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. According to the carmaker, they are the ones who built it. To make the most out of it, Saleen added a 6-speed manual gearbox, despite the trend of automatic transmissions.
Most of the car’s body is made of carbon-fiber except the chassis for which aluminum was used. Total weight of this vehicle is only 2,685 pounds which allows it to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach the top speed of about 180 mph. The weight distribution is 42:58, meaning that this RWD car gives more grip to the front end during braking. Sure all of this sounds promising now, but with the S1 live up to the hype? We are not sure, but it looks promising at this point.
