The long wish of each and every Jeep fan is coming to fulfillment. When exactly it is not confirmed yet, but what we know so far is that this carmaker will build a Wrangler-based pickup truck. The name that is reserved for the future Jeep vehicle is still unknown. It goes from most expected names like Wrangler Pickup trough Gladiator, Jeep Pickup and at the end Comanche. The last one is the less likely because of political correctness although it sounds awesome and it was previously used by the company. For now, we will call it 2018 Jeep Truck.
Release date of Jeep Truck
According to people from the Toledo-based company, the new Jeep Truck is already in the works which can be concluded from the spy photos we acquired. Jeep’s CEO Mike Manley confirmed that their truck will be on the market before 2019 as 2018 MY.
Price of Wrangler Pickup
Considering that it should be based on Wrangler, pickup will stay approximately the same regarding price. The Unlimited version of famous SUV starts at $32,000, so this will probably be the starting point for 2018 Jeep Truck. The difference of few thousands more is possible because the bed will be added and more material will be used.
Design of new Truck
The design will be, as you can guess, similar if not the same as the standard Wrangler. If you look at the spy photos, it seems like they look quite the same. Of course, the main difference is the length and pickup will be blessed with a bed. Will there be some other more significant differences remains to be seen? As far the interior goes we can’t say much because not much is known about the design of future vehicle which will come out before the new Jeep Truck. When we get more info, we will fill you in.
2018 Jeep Truck Power Options
Another ting that these two models are going to share is powertrain. The base unit offered on both the SUV and the truck is going to be 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. This engine will be capable of producing 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. New Truck from US company will also get all-new Wrangler’s 3.0-liter EcoDiesel with 240hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.

Competition of Jeep’s Truck
Regarding the competition, Jeep will with its new Truck go against its old rival but also few new ones. Back in the days, those were models from Chevrolet and Dodge, but now the situation is a bit different. Jeep truck will battle 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Z71, 2017 Toyota Tacoma, and 2018 Nissan Frontier.
