What about technology?
The 2CV doesn’t have any electronic technology, but it is full of contemporary ‘tech’ for its time. For instance, it uses a ladder chassis which was standard for the time, but the frame is built like an old airplane, i.e., everything is made out of tubing, and the thin steel body is just bolted on top afterward. The suspension is simple but clever, linking the fore and aft. In lay man’s terms, it was self-leveling and the kinematics would effectively lengthen the wheelbase when cornering hard and loaded. It’s also neigh-on impossible to roll a 2CV. Due to its driving dynamics and ultra skinny front tires, the 2CV will understeer into a field days before it has enough grip to roll over.
