9. Cannonball (1976)
This movie can be easily switched with Cannonball Run that debuted some 5 years after this one. Cannonball was about a race from the Santa Monica Pier to New York City, and in it, we saw David Carradine who drive, what appeared to be, seemingly stock 1970 Trans Am with a four-speed transmission, custom paint, and standard Rally II wheels. It all ended badly for the Trans Am since it got totaled when its driver fell asleep at the wheel.
