Ford decided to test a prototype for the next-gen Focus, and we have photos of the new model. This is not the first time we get pictures of the vehicle since we saw a test mule previously, but now we have one that features a production body. The new Focus should be introduced next year as a 2019 model. The next-generation vehicle will be a bit longer and wider than the outgoing version, judging by the previous prototypes that were spotted.
No additional information leaked or was released regarding the 2019 Ford Focus, but we do expect the new one to come in hatchback, sedan and wagon variant just like it was in the past.

Buyers will probably again have a vast choice of powertrains which will include performance-oriented options for models that will carry on the ST and RS badge. Other than that, we expect an inline-3 with fuel-saving cylinder deactivation, which the remodeled Fiesta will feature, for the entry-level option.
Ford is supposed to offer an electric option also. Although the Focus Electric is not at the top when it comes to popularity, but it does make a difference when it comes to Ford’s fleet-wide average fuel economy. Just a little reminder, we found out in January that by 2020 Ford plans to introduce a compact electric SUV with a 300-mile range. We see no reason why the Blue Oval automaker wouldn’t use the same battery and powertrain in the new Focus Electric.
The 2019 Ford Focus will be in the same category and will compete against the Chevrolet Cruze, Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Golf, Honda Civic and Subaru Impreza.
