2018 Ford Ranger – Ready for US Return

Ford Ranger is a mid-size pickup that is being sold by Ford in many Worldwide markets but not in the USA. Since 2012 this truck has been absent from States, but now things seem to be changing. Ford is planning on bringing its internationally successful model back to its home soil, and that will happen with 2018 Ford Ranger.

Release date of 2018 Ford Ranger

The precise date of Ranger’s return is not yet scheduled, but there are more than few speculations regarding the release date. Many enthusiasts believe that 2018 Ford Ranger will arrive in early 2017 or at least by the summer of the same year. Others aren’t as optimistic and think that this truck won’t come up before the end of 2018 and that this vehicle will come as 2019 MY. The truth lies somewhere in between because new pickup will most likely arrive by the end of 2017 or at the start of 2018. We predict that it will hit the floor at Detroit Auto Show and that Ranger will be a 2018 Model.

Design of new Ranger

Regarding the design, both interior and exterior, nothing will change much compared to the international model. 2018 Ford Ranger will, at least for its first US generation in years, keep the look of its Australian sibling which you can see in the picture bellow. Technology will probably be a little upgraded to ensure its competitiveness. Ford Sync 3 and Ford’s My Touch will be inevitable together with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Ford Ranger 2018 Price

Price will be the talking point of new Ranger. Because Ford plans domestic production, the new model will cost a little less than its international pair. The starting price for this pickup in South Africa is $15,880 for 2.5P Single Cab Base 5MT 4×2 LR. Of course, an engine this much deprived of power won’t see the light of day in the States, but it can give you a picture of just how affordable the 2018 Ford Ranger will be.

Engine Options

When it comes to powertrain, the new Ranger will probably bring over only one option from the international market. The engine in question is 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel. As for other units, that will find its way to this vehicle it is early to speculate, but a V-6 could be in the game together with a couple of petrol options from EcoBoost family.
