With 2018 Toyota Yaris Japanese manufacturer is bringing a lot of changes to the market. The model will be upgraded both from the outside and the inside giving this small hatch a new and modern look. The improvements won’t be offered only regarding design but also in terms of engines and performance. The 2018 MY will be the first in which will Toyota offer a performance model of its precious Yaris.
2018 Toyota Yaris Redesign
The front fascia of the new vehicle has undergone an evolutionary change. It now has refreshed look with more sportier lines. With these upgrades, it now has a wider stance and sharp look which now comes as standard on new Toyota models. The differences are so profound which can be seen from looking at Yaris new grille and new headlights. The changes are going all around from front to the back where you can spot new, and now more horizontal, taillights. Both headlights and taillights are going to be equipped with LED technology. Also, juts like the front received new grille the rear end got a new bumper. The 2018 Toyota Yaris will be available in a new range of colors and also with different sets of alloy wheels.
On the inside, you will also notice improvements that the company delivers. New colors, new trim options, new seats are just some of the things that are now better on this hatchback. Other things like dials, air vents, and switchgear are not all-new but have been revised. The most notable, and one of the most important upgrades is a 4.2-inch color display which was not available on previous versions and was only intended for mid-range vehicles.
Toyota Yaris 2018 Engine Options
Under the hood, the 2018 Toyota Yaris will come with various choices. The newest unit will be 1.5-liter four cylinder petrol engine with 110 bhp and 136 Nm of torque which is replacing old 1.3-liter powertrain. Other mills include a hybrid version of the same 1.5-liter engine and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 68 bhp. The performance version 2018 Yaris GRMN will come with 1.8-liter four cylinders supercharged engine capable of pumping out 207 hp which will make it one of the most powerful models in its class.

Despite the fact that the market is getting consumed by SUVs and crossovers the competition in mini segment remains as powerful as ever. New Yaris in its standard outfit will go against 2017 Honda Fit, 2018 Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2, 2017 Chevy Sonic, 2017 Nissan Versa Note and 2018 Hyundai Accent. As for the GRMN edition of 2018 Yaris, it will go against the likes of Fiesta ST and VW Polo GTI.

2018 Yaris Release date
Both versions of this vehicle will be presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show which starts on 9th of March. The sales will begin later this year but with no official release date set by Toyota. It won’t be out before the summer ends, so we hope for early September release. The Japanese manufacturer will probably start the sales with regular Yaris while the GRMN edition will follow shortly after.
Price of new Yaris
As far as the price go Aichi company is keeping everyone in the dark. Looking at the current lineup, the prices go from $15,000 for the base L model to $18,000 for SE trim. These figures will most likely remain in this region, but the future performance model of 2018 Yaris will be a little spicier. Nevertheless, Toyota should keep in mind that Yaris has no history in this segment with performance models so it should retain the price bellow $20,000.
