2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class and 2018 A-Class Spy Shots

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain and 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class were spotted outside the company’s HQ during road testing, revealing some details to us. We got the latest rumors and some spy shots for you.

Design Changes

2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain is taller and a bit wider than its Wagon counterpart, and it comes with additional protective elements. The bumpers and wheel arches are revised. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will ride on the latest version of the MFA platform, which will save some weight, but will also make the car longer. This is good, because there will be more space inside. AS for the interior, there is a word that the dashboard will feature the integrated central screen that will be part of the infotainment system. In the photos you will notice strange markings on the windshield. Those are most likely various sensors.

Engine and Performance

Not much is known about the engine that will power the 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class. All that we know is it’s gonna be a 4-cylinder petrol unit paired with an automatic dual-clutch transmissions. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain will most likely be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 powertrain, just like its Wagon counterpart (photo below) and will feature an all-wheel-drive system. This unit is able to deliver 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, and comes with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Also, we could expect the high-performance models from Mercedes-AMG.

Release Dates

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain is said to arrive at the 2016 Paris Auto Show this September, and soon after that it will hit the retail stores. It’s gonna be a direct competitor to the Audi A6 Allroad and Volvo XC70. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be released by the end of 2017. Unfortunately, it appears that neither of these two models will be available in the United States. They will go on sale in Europe and China. China could even get an exclusive sedan variant of the A-Class.
