Take a sneak peak 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

Mercedes-Benz never stops perfecting their cars, and as a result of that, a new generation of Mercedes-Benz E-Class models is just around the corner. With the sedan and wagon already available to public, new body styles, although closely resembling the older ones, are expected to hit the market. After a long-wheelbase E-Class L debut, second in line is a coupe after which a convertible or a high-performance model might follow.

It seems that Mercedes decided not to tamper with the design of E-Class Coupe. Instead, they changed its size making it a bit bigger than the previous model. The body of the car is also smoother than the one on the outgoing type.

The new Coupe uses the modular rear-wheel-drive platform, or MRA, which should make it lighter and more dynamic than the outgoing version. This also means that the new member of Mercedes-Benz family will have an all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The benefits of MRA platform don’t stop here. It also includes other tech features like autonomous driving capabilities and luxurious interior which has display screens instead of standard dashboard gauges.

The new E-Class Coupe will have either gasoline or diesel engines, and these powerplants should include inline four and six units. If they decide to make a high-performance E63 Coupe, it should have tuned twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine with an output of close to 600 horsepower.

Hopefully, judging by the shortfall of secrecy, the great unveiling is near. However, it will not happen until the second half of 2017 when the car will hit the market.
