The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Coupe has been caught during testing on European roads and at Nürburgring. Photographers managed to capture several photos of the upcoming SUV at different locations. We also have two rendering photos that show how the vehicle could look like when it comes out.
Exterior Design
As you can see in the photos, the test mule, code-named L560, is more rakish and more stylish than its counterpart, it has a sloped roof, redesigned rear end, steeply raked rear window, thinner taillights, wider rear bumper, and it sits on the all-aluminum platform. As for the inside, given that the vehicle has a sloped and lower roof, most likely there won’t be the third-row seats. Storage area will also be smaller. The InControl touchscreen should receive an update.
Engine Options
The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Coupe will be equipped with either an inline-4 or inline-6 powertrains. A supercharged 3.0L V6 is also said to come as standard engine, while a turbodiesel V6 and 5.0L V8 petrol unit will also be offered as optional engines. There’s also a high chance that the automaker will offer an electric variant that will share the same electric motor with the upcoming Jaguar electric SUV, currently in development. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is going to be offered as standard option.
Release Date, Price
The 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe is going to be presented to the public in early 2017. However, it won’t be available for sale until the end of the same year. It is going to be a direct competitor to the following models: Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, Maserati Levante, Porsche Cayenne. As for the price, expect it to start at $60,000 and go up to $100,000 for the high-performance models.
