Mercedes recently confirmed that they are working on the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster, and we already have some spy shots of the upcoming open top sports car, that will bring various performance enhancements.
Exterior and Interior
As you can see in the photos below, design of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is quite similar to the Coupe model. However, you’ll notice the fabric top, even with all those camouflage. The open top will allow the passengers to feel all the power of this convertible while the wind flows through their hair. Viewed from the side, the greenhouse looks different compared to the coupe, but those are only changes that we could tell so far.
We didn’t managed to take a look inside, but we could expect AMG’s drive unit with Cockpit Management and Data (COMAND) infotainment system, speed-sensing dynamic power steering, premium audio system, sports seats, and plenty of space for passengers.
Engine and Performance
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is expected to come with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, delivering at least 456 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of twist to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Also expect an upgraded suspension system made of forged aluminum and AMG high-performance braking system, for improved driving and handling.
GT C Roadster Release Date, Price
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster will be released for sale in early 2017, before its Coupe counterpart that will arrive later that year. It won’t be cheap; customers should prepare to pay $132,125 for this open top sports car.
