2017 Cadillac Escalade – New Models Taking Over the World
The current model of the Cadillac Escalade has been released quite recently, but this doesn’t mean that the car will not receive any updates. In fact, there are strong rumors out there suggesting that GM will be releasing the 2017 Cadillac Escalade as a major update to the current version. This comes as an answer for all those high performances and very luxurious crossovers and SUV’s which have been released in Europe in the past few months. While the base model of the Escalade is expected to be carried over pretty much unchanged, the new models will certainly stun people with its features and upgrades.
Rumors & Price of 2017 Cadillac Escalade
For starters, two new models have been rumored, and only one of them has been confirmed so far. The V-Sport model is expected to hit the market first. This is likely going to be released by the end of the year, and it should start at around $110,000 which is a lot more than the base version. A future luxury model of the car is still on hold, but things could change very soon.
At this point, we don’t know the name of the model for sure. However, we do know that Cadillac wants to take head-on the Bentayga, which costs well over $200,000. This might mean that it will be the first Cadillac in a while to break $150,000 which would easily make it one of the most expensive cars made in the US. Since we know the price at which current version is offered, this huge increase in cost, will allow Caddy to bring an insane amount of luxury features and comfort improvements.
Engine and Performance of new Cadillac Escalade 2017
Being the same car as before, at least the base model, this means that the upcoming Cadillac Escalade 2017 will get the same 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8. However, the two all new versions of the vehicle are expected to get a bit more different than that. The V-Sport model has been confirmed to use a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 petrol engine. This is the same unit that can be found in the Corvette.
This powerplant has been announced to make more than 600 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. It might pump slightly less power than it is the case with one that is in Vette because of the different exhaust system but still, it should be plenty powerful even for huge Escalade. Unfortunately, though, GM hasn’t said much else about it. We assume that they are still going to use the same all-wheel drive system as before and the same eight-speed automatic transmission.
Thanks to the massive power increase, the new Escalade might get to 60 MPH in as little as 4 seconds, time that was reserved for supercars only a few years ago. This would allow it to compete on the same level with the lighter and more powerful European SUV’s and crossovers. The luxury version of the car, on the other hand, has been rumored to receive a new V8 engine. This is likely going to get a 4.2 or 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine.
This is likely going to get a 4.2 or 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. While it will offer less than the supercharged V8 at roughly 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, it should be smoother and more efficient. This is far more important for a luxury car which needs to offer a greater range than usual and also a smooth experience.
2017 Cadillac Escalade Changes
We expect the rumored luxury edition of the 2017 Cadillac Escalade not to be all that different from the regular model. Instead, we do expect it to get some chrome accents, higher quality materials, and better infotainment system. Other than this it should bring new wheels and colors, but this should be pretty much all. The V-Sport is likely going to get lower, wider and more aggressive stance as well, thankfully to the upgraded suspension. All of these changes should allow it to get to a higher top speed safely and hold much better in corners.
The cabin of the V-Sport, on the other hand, will not be as impressive as its exterior. One of the luxury editions will be quite a bit more impressive. Quilted leather, real wood, tempered glass and likely aluminum are all going to be offered as standard. For this particular model, Cadillac is expected to use only the best materials available to them.
